What I've learned so far is...

you can't auto-pilot on what you eat as most people do in their busy lifestyles.

Food becomes another thing to think about rather than just an object to drop into your mouth to satiate yourself. You need to plan out, put some mental effort into how to make a meal out of a limited number of resources and remember to refrain from what's not on your list.
And when you actually eat, you taste, you notice every small morsel that goes into your mouth. And maybe through your digestive tract. At least you do if you have beans on your list.

It might be part of why we've had a rash of dropouts. Food is one too many items on your mental plate. It's frustrating, especially when it was something taken without a second thought before.
